Next I used some CC on the V1 clips - still no freeze when I edited the V2 Avid FX Rendered this and re-edited this no probs. Then I added to V2 an Avid FX - 3 layers, gradient, text and video. Onto this I placed a clip, a slow-mo, a timewarp with fluidmotion and a freeze frame. Next I created a sequence - 4 video tracks 6 mono audio and 1 stereo audio.
CAMTASIA 9 CRASHING FULL
I created a new HD project and imported a bin full of P2 that I consolidated to my media drives using the DVCPro HD codecs The bin contains approx 80 clips. I ran a series of tests today with no luck! I wonder if the problem is something to do with Avid FX looking at these other FX below it and it get into a mess when it cant calculate the timewarp etc? Since Avid FX5.8, it does not show Avid FX on layers below until render. In the older version of Avid FX (sitting on MC3.x), if you nested a series of Avid FX over each other in layers, the topmost layer always displayed the rendered output of the Avid FX layers beneath it in the Avid FX interface. I cant replicate this 100% of the time - when I can I will post the recipie - but it happens often enough to be very annoying.Īnother thing I have noticed. She is clean and pure Avid all the way!! This same system was rock solid on MC4. It remains disconnected from the network unless transferring files.
CAMTASIA 9 CRASHING SOFTWARE
No other software on the system - no adobe, no internet, no Office, no virus scanners and no updating of the Win 7 64 install.
CAMTASIA 9 CRASHING DRIVER
The PC is clean installed with Win 7 64 pro, certified driver versions and the MXO2 is present
CAMTASIA 9 CRASHING PATCH
My Avid FX 5.8 has the patch applied to it so I think it is the latest version. My MC is patched to 5.0.3.4 at which point I stopped the patching cycle until things settled down (error since the first version of MC5)! That the Clips often contain Timewarps (but cant recollect if that is 100% of the time) and that there is nearly always a mixture of CC and image stabilising present on these clips too. I'll re-itterate my only firm observations to date: That the Avid FX is applied over a series of clips on another layer. If it delete all the filters, clips and relay them again, then apply a blank Avid FX and load a different version of the troublesome FX and then re-edit the FX contents its OK again - and editable next time too!
Open my saved Avid FX and bang its crashing again. If I delete the timewarp, any filters and the clips fom the timeline, re-edit them back and re-apply a blank FX - all ok. Once the problem has reared its head, I can load a blank Avid FX onto the clips and it still crashes. And yet the section right next to it with a different version of the same FX on different clips is fine and can be edited. I'll then go back to edit this FX to change something and it crashes/freezes etc. I load a default layout I have created, modify the text content, save the FX then apply and render - all sweet. Each section has this random mix of clips in it but each require a slightly different Avid FX applied to it - the template I created is the same but the text appearing in the template differs (no 3D text, just text with drop shadow).
I have created a series of sections of clips within a timeline. Here is where the randomness shows up for me. Have since seen it on SD and HD projects created by MC5 - not carry over projects. V1 with clips, some with CC, some with timewarp, some with stabilise, some with no filters at all.įirst saw it in a HD project that had totally behaved itself on MC4 Half the problem with the crashing I have experienced since moving to MC5.x is my inability to reliably replicate it! It seems very random but so far, for me, the common threads are:
